Cuts, cuts and more cuts!

 Cuts in government services, in communal Jewish organizations, in non-profits, in bank loans… everyone seems to be cutting back or cutting out or cutting corners.

 And who can blame them? “Tough measures for tough times” is the popular mantra.

 At Camp Gan Israel however, no matter how bleak the economic situation may seem, we cannot and will not skimp on your precious child’s Jewish summer education. It’s just that important!

 In fact, we are pleased to report that Camp Gan Israel 2011 is turning out to be one of the best summers ever with enhanced programming and our compassionate, caring and altogether classy counselors. 

 How are we going to manage this minor miracle? With your help of course.

 Dear friends… we are counting on you this year more than ever. Your support is more crucial than ever and our children need you more than ever.

 Children like Terry G. whose mom is a single working mother struggling mightily to make ends meet. She called us last week and literally begged us to take her son. “Rabbi, he needs to be in a Jewish environment this summer, all his friends have gone to sleep-away camp and he will be left alone. I’m worried to death about what he will do while I’m at work.”

 How can we say no to Terry’s mom? How can we turn this vulnerable Jewish child away? Can we say, “sorry, we have no more scholarships available, you’re too late?” Of course not – thank G-d we’ve never turned a child away for lack of funds in our 15 year history. And we owe it all to YOU.

 This summer, your gift of $190 will provide a child like Terry with one week in our wholesome and fun-filled camp environment. A $645 gift will give Terry an entire month in Camp Gan Israel. Every dollar counts and no donation is too small. Won’t you open your heart and partner with us?
